Job description

We are looking for client-focused professionals to join our busy river and coastal engineering teams at a Senior or Principal level. With a strong portfolio of work including many high profile infrastructure projects being delivered for a range of risk management authorities, our team is expanding and we are looking to recruit a range of new team members.


Our projects require a mix of engineering, economic, scientific, modelling, statistical and written and oral communication skills. Projects cover flood mapping and appraisal, capital works delivery and asset management from strategic planning and conceptual design through to business cases, detailed design and construction support.

We offer a choice of management or technical career pathways which are equally recognized and supported by our career development framework.

Based in Swindon where the teams are located, the successful candidate will have a track record of technical excellence in one or more of the areas detailed above.

You will be comfortable working with our strategic sales teams to develop new business with public and private sector clients, but your primary focus will be on delivering projects to the highest technical standards, including mentoring and leadership of mid-level team members.

Technical leadership of river or coastal engineering and flood risk management projects, from inception to handover, working with the project manager to ensure they are delivered on budget and to deadlines.
Coaching and mentoring mid-level staff.
Maintain excellent professional relationships with our clients leading to repeat business.
Take ownership and responsibility for the quality of project work to meet the highest standards.
Liaise with and support others across the wider UK and international markets.
Ensure project compliance with CH2Mís HS&E, quality, financial, risk management, business and policy requirements.
