The Conservation Director of MNCA supports the Executive Director to ensure that the four programs in the MNCA region (water, energy infrastructure, integrated landscape management - forests , oceans) are effectively implemented. The Conservation Director performs the technical and managerial coordination of the team of leaders of the four programs of the MCNA region. Specifically, the Conservation Director:

Supports the Director in the strategic planning of the program and in the definition of management and impact indicators as well as in its monitoring and evaluation.
It incorporates multidisciplinary knowledge to support the objectives of the program and take advantage of the existing program in collaboration between programs.
Lead the conservation teams in ensuring both the effective implementation of their work programs and the expected results.
Supports the Director in the development of appropriate reporting systems and preparation of reports that are required internally in TNC.
Leads and coordinates the conservation team in the development of public and private financing proposals.
Work in coordination with the legal, administrative and financial areas of the program.

PRINCIPALES FUNCIONES

El Director de Conservación de MNCA apoya al Director Ejecutivo para asegurar que los cuatro programas en la región MNCA (agua, infraestructura energética, manejo integral del paisaje-bosques/selvas/suelos--, océanos) sean implementados de manera efectiva. Realiza la coordinación técnica y gerencial del equipo de líderes de los cuatro programas de la región MCNA. De manera específica:

Apoya al Director en la planeación estratégica del programa y en la definición de indicadores de gestión y de impacto así como en el monitoreo y evaluación de los mismos.
Incorpora el conocimiento multi-disciplinario para apoyar los objetivos del programa y aprovechar la sinergia existente en la colaboración entre los programas.
Apoya a los equipos de conservación para asegurar la ejecución efectiva de los proyectos y los resultados esperados.
Apoya al Director en la elaboración de sistemas de reporte para dar seguimiento al avance de los proyectos y de los reportes que se requieran internamente en TNC.
Lidera y coordina al equipo de conservación en el desarrollo de propuestas de financiamiento público y privado.
Trabaja de manera coordinada con las áreas legal, administrativa y financiera del programa.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

10 years of professional experience, including proven experience effectively leading environmental and conservation issues, in large and complex programs and with measurable results in Mexico and Central America in non-governmental, private or public organizations.
Ability to motivate, lead, set goals and manage the performance of a multidisciplinary team.
Proven experience and success as an inspiring leader that motivates personal success to achieve results and maintain excellence.
Proven management talent with budget management, people and performance management.
A vision of the future, creative and with high ethical standards.
Outstanding leadership and visionary qualities. Able to work effectively with and through others in a decentralized and geographically dispersed organization.
Ability to apply scientific concepts and technical innovations to the conservation agenda.
Demonstrated technical skills in the required field of action, analytical capability and a strong operational point of view. Oriented to details.
Capacity of order and organization. Capable of self-direction and teamwork.
Knowledge of the political and social context of the environmental / conservation agenda in the MNCA region.
Ability to make wise and timely decisions

CONOCIMIENTO/HABILIDADES

10 años de experiencia profesional, incluyendo experiencia comprobada liderando efectivamente temas ambientales y de conservación, en programas grandes y complejos y con resultados medibles en México y Centro América en organizaciones no gubernamentales, privadas o públicas.
Capacidad para motivar, liderar, fijar objetivos y gestionar el rendimiento de un equipo multidisciplinario.
Experiencia comprobada y éxito como líder inspirador que motiva el éxito personal para lograr resultados y mantener la excelencia.
Talento gerencial comprobado con manejo de presupuesto, personas y gestión del rendimiento.
Visión a futuro, creativo y con altos estándares éticos.
Liderazgo excepcional y cualidades visionarias. Capaz de trabajar de manera efectiva con y a través de otros en una organización descentralizada y geográficamente dispersa.
