• Support ERM’s Contaminated Site Management team on site investigations/characterization,treatability/feasibility studies, remediation/corrective action plan development and implementation, write technical reports, present study results to clients and project team, and support field work
• Review and interpret contour/topography maps, geographical, geological and hydrogeological data, historical evidence and models to build up a picture of the groundwater regime and/or land contamination;
• Design and execute sampling programs;
• Undertake field work and site visits for investigative and monitoring purposes;
• Perform environment impact assessments of groundwater abstraction and management activities;
• Analyzing collected information to assess and predict the impact of Oil and Gas, Power, Landfill, Mining, Chemical/Agrochemical and industrial and commercial activities on groundwater quality and resource availability;
• Liaising with other engineers and other professionals in related fields;
• Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and keeping up to date with technological and legislative developments;
• Writing and presenting technical data for clients, which can be understood by people who don't necessarily have a technical background;
• Answering technical queries and providing advice to clients on an approved platform (either in writing and over face to face meetings);
• Acquire permits associated with drilling and installation of groundwater wells;
• Managing projects and contractors; and
• Working within health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in the field of environmental remediation.
• BS in engineering (environmental, chemical, civil) environmental science, geology or related degree; prefer MS degree.
• Demonstrates experience in leading and managing projects.
• Prefer experience working in China (but not mandatory), particularly on Oil and Gas, Chemical/Agrochemical, Mining, Power and other industrial and commercial sectors.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of energy and self-motivation.
• Can demonstrate ability to consistently meet both routine and challenging obligations/deliverables.
• Full scale remediation experience
• Prefer Chinese language fluency, but not mandatory.
