Summary
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Ecological Restoration Specialist to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia. Candidate will be responsible for technical execution of stream restoration projects working collaboratively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform field work for stream assessments
• Prepare stream restoration conceptual plans, construction documents (i.e., plans and specifications), and cost estimates
• Assist with the construction and implementation of stream restoration projects including but not limited to – on-site construction observation and reporting and post monitoring
• Works closely and collaboratively with other stream restoration design engineers and project managers to execute projects effectively and efficiently ensuring schedule and budget are achieved for project deliverables
• Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic computations and summary reports
• Participate in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work
Skills / Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• BS in Civil Engineering or an Environmental Science related field
• 2-5+ years relevant stream restoration design experience
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Demonstrated experience in preparing construction documents, developing plan and profiles for stream restoration projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D corridor modeling
• AutoCAD experience using alignments and profiles in conjunction with assemblies and sub-assemblies, tin surfaces, etc.
• Degree coursework focus on Hydrology and Hydraulics, Fluvial Geomorphology, Watershed Management, and Stream Restoration
• Field experience working alongside streams, wetland, and floodplains
• Excellent problem-solving, organization, coordination, writing, people, and verbal communication skills; solid work ethic; and ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams
• Stream restoration training (Rosgen and/or NC State) is a plus
• Experience with FEMA studies including LOMR / CLOMR is a plus
• Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations and policies related to stream restoration in the State of Virginia is a plus
• Native plant identification skills and knowledge of Virginia plant communities and preparation of riparian planting plans is a plus
• Graphic design or GIS experience is a plus
• Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
