Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Wetland delineation; demarcation of wetland boundaries (flagging), GPS location, and collection of vegetation, soils and hydrology data.
• State and federal permitting with a focus on permitting requirements in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts.
• Mitigation/restoration monitoring that will include wetland parameters and wildlife surveys.
• Habitat assessment, data collection, and
• Environmental impact analysis (NEPA & State).
• Field work: estimated time spent in the field: 50%.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or closely related field required; Bachelor of Science degree in wildlife biology, botany, ecology preferred.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Must express eagerness and willingness to learn to apply theoretical knowledge to assigned tasks or projects.
• Good oral and written communication skills required.
• Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective scientific discipline.
• Wildlife habitat assessment skills preferred.
• Wetland delineation skills which include plant identification and experience with wetland hydrology and soil indicators preferred.
• Must have a strong theoretical scientific knowledge.
• Strong ability to work in a team environment.
• Must have the ability to work in the field in different weather conditions.
• Valid US Driver’s license required.
• Must be able to physically navigate in the field.
