Summary
Under the direction of the Hydrologist Principal Advisor, the candidate is responsible for achieving hydrologic goals of the pit-dewatering program while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.

Job Responsibilities
1. Monthly reporting: Including pumpage, water levels, well utilization and dewatering accounting.
2. Dewatering data management in various database systems
3. Collect of data from monitor wells to evaluate changes in the peizometric surface.
4. Supervise the design, construction, development, testing and rehabilitation of water and monitor wells.
5. Assist with planning and coordinate well locations, water line design and routing, and schedule rerouting dewatering systems with the planning engineers, maintenance and mine operations.
6. Assist with planning and implement of current and future drilling programs.
7. Conduct/lead hydrologic investigations such as performance / pumping / injection tests, spinner logs, infiltration studies, etc., collect and analyze data and prepare reports and documents.
8. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
9. Mentor and supervise other hydrology staff.
10. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
11. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
12. Works without risk or harm to self and others.
13. Punctuality and regular attendance required.
14. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
15. Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s Degree in a Geologic or Engineering-related field.
2. A preferred minimum of three to five years’ experience in geohydrology or water well management
3. Experience with dewatering systems, hydrologic and hydrogeologic principles
4. Direct experience with well drilling
5. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
6. General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
7. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing AutoCAD, Vulcan, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
8. Must have the ability to plan, coordinate and schedule time to achieve overall objectives.
9. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
10. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
11. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
12. Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
13. Requires valid driver’s license.
