Primary Responsibilities
We have an opportunity in our Bellevue or Seattle office for a summer intern in the Water Resources section of our Water Group. The right candidate will have completed at least their second year in an accredited engineering program, be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as with a project team to complete assignments/tasks.
Primary duties will include: assisting engineering staff with design calculations, hydrologic modeling using MGS Flood, developing engineering details, revisions to Microstation Drawings from engineering mark-ups, plotting drawings for check prints and submittals, and assembly of drawing sets for submittals. Other duties may include technical writing, quantity take-off and cost estimation. This position will primarily involve working on the stormwater engineering portion of a transportation project.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Enrolled in an engineering program
• Completion or near completion of junior year (300 level courses) in an accredited engineering program with preferably with water resources engineering curriculum such as Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Geology, Fluids Laboratory, Applied Hydraulics, Soil Mechanics, Water Resources I/II
• Interest in hydraulics and hydrology
• 3.00 GPA
• Attention to detail a must
• Possess strong problem solving and communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• AutoCAD or Microstation training preferred
Preferred Qualifications
• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
