Summary

Geosyntec is growing in the Atlanta area and we looking for a motivated, detail-oriented hydrogeologist / geologist / engineer to join our Kennesaw, Georgia office. Our ideal candidate would have between one and two years of experience working on environmental due diligence, site investigation, and remediation projects, but we’re open to candidates with up to ten years of experience. Job description

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals as you move to the next stage of your career? Some of the key responsibilities for this position include:
• Fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation system O&M;
• Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
• Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
• Aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analyses;
• Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
• Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
• Technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

Based on your current level of experience, you’ll likely be asked to take on task-level or project management responsibilities, along with business development, staff management, and mentoring tasks. Here are some other things you should know about this position:
• Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, CPR training and medical monitoring, all paid for by Geosyntec. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
• Some fieldwork and overnight travel will be necessary.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
• BS degree in environmental science, earth science (geology or hydrology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. [required]
• Advanced degree in geology or environmental engineering. [preferred]
• Approximately 1 to 2 years of experience in an environmental consulting environment. [required]
• Strong commitment to safety, including following Geosyntec’s established Health and Safety procedures. [required]
• Project experience involving environmental regulatory compliance, historical research, and environmental assessment. [preferred]
• Federal and Georgia regulatory knowledge, especially RCRA and EPCRA. [preferred]
• Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. [preferred]
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. [required]
