The research associate will be in charge of modeling and geospatial analysis in the Google AI Impact Challenge project (https://sites.google.com/view/deepldb) where we create a landslide database and improve our predictive capability of the hazard. The selected candidates will interact with large groups of researchers, will be using state-of-the-art machine learning techniques and will learn new methodologies in solving complex issues. Strong, documented coding skill is a must for the position, while it is not limited to a particular programming language. Background in machine learning or deep learning is a plus but not required. The appointment will start preferably in December 2019 or early 2020. Applications will be reviewed immediately and are accepted until the position is filled. This position requires a Bachelor`s or higher degree in Geoscience, Computer Science, or clearly related fields.
