Qualifications
A PhD in climate science, atmospheric science, earth science, or a closely related field is preferred but ABD candidates will be considered.
Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts context
Responsibilities
Northland College is primarily a teaching college. The successful candidate’s teaching load will consist of six courses per year in climate science, including introductory courses in weather and climate, oceanography, and climate change as well as upper level courses appropriate to a climate science major. Moreover, faculty are expected to advise student research in support of the candidate’s research interests. The successful applicant must demonstrate a commitment to the liberal arts and the ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
