Job description

Your tasks

• Review the construction planning and designs of the implementing partners and prepare the necessary approval documents for the construction unit at the country office.



• Quality assurance of all soil erosion measures in the project in accordance with deadlines, such as small stone wall construction, retention walls, little check dams within the wadi’s and ripraps.



• Development of a monitoring and quality assurance system for the construction measures.



• Guarantee of a process-compliant implementation of the construction processes and of regular reporting

Your profile

• University-level degree in civil engineering or a comparable qualification



• Working experience in construction planning, monitoring and acceptance and in costing



• Knowledge of tendering procedures, awarding contracts and supporting commissioned construction projects



• Practical work experience in the context of fragile states, ideally in Jordan



• Willingness to conduct frequently field visits.



• High quality standards, resilience and excellent intercultural skills



• Fluent English skills; knowledge of German, Arabic desirable
