ABOUT THE POSITION:

Participating on multi-disciplinary project teams;
Task-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments;
Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring;
Performing numerical and physical modeling of coastal and riverine processes;
Assessing and developing engineering solutions for hydraulic and hydrodynamic problems;
Using applied analytical and statistical techniques;
Developing vulnerability assessments, sea level rise plans, and adaptation plans;
Using geostatistical methods to assess environmental datasets;
Designing and providing oversight of field assessments and application of advanced field measurement methods;
Preparing data syntheses, technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, and specifications; and
Performing data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;

Fieldwork: Up to 20%
Overnight travel: Up to 25%

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
BS degree in engineering. (required)
Advanced degree in Coastal Engineering or Ocean Sciences (M.S. or Ph.D.). (preferred)
At least 3 years of experience in the environmental or consulting industry. (preferred)
Experience with coastal and hydraulic modeling software (Mike21, Delft3D, SWAN, HEC-RAS, or similar), for hydrodynamics, waves, and sediment transport. (preferred)
Experience with quantitative statistical methods and data visualization. (preferred)
Experience with GIS and coastal flood, sea level rise, and hazard mapping. (preferred)
Experience with scientific programming languages, such as Matlab and Python. (required)
Exceptional oral and written-communication skills, as demonstrated by a record of conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications. (required)
Ability and interest in obtaining a professional engineering license in a northeastern state, or current active license. (required)
Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. (required)
