Summary

As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will play a key role in GeoEngineers water and river engineering practice, which includes a wide range of water resource related projects including stream and river habitat restoration, culvert and fish passage design and flood control projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. You will have flexibility to design and build solutions for clients that enhance ecosystems, watersheds, and communities. Specific job responsibilities include: develop of plans, specification and engineers cost estimates for a variety of water and aquatic resource projects; develop natural channel restoration designs; design fish passage and habitat projects; complete hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and analyses; complete complex engineering analyses and calculations; coordinate field data collection; write basis -of-design and other technical reports, and provide technical review and mentorship of junior engineering staff.

Job description

This position can be based out of our Seattle, Tacoma, Redmond, or Bellingham office.



Qualifications:


BS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources required, MS preferred

PE license in Washington State; PE registration in OR and ID is desirable

5-10 years of related professional experience, preferably with prior consulting experience

Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, both public and private, as well as representatives of local, state and federal regulatory agencies.

Training and experience must include use of standard 1-dimensional hydraulic models (e.g. HEC-RAS), with preference for candidate with experience with 2-dimensional (2-D) hydraulic modeling (e.g. SRH-2D)

Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, experience with Bentley-MicroStation is preferred

Experience with hydrologic analysis software (e.g. HSPF) and sediment transportation modeling preferred

Experience developing designs and bid packages including design drawings, specifications and cost estimates

Knowledge of environmental planning and regulations, fluvial geomorphology, and fish biology in the Pacific Northwest desired

Ability to successfully work within a team, as well as professional-level verbal and written communication skills

Valid driver's license
