Job Description
GEI is seeking a motivated individual to join the firm as a Water Resources Engineer as part of our hydraulics and hydrology group. The core responsibilities and duties for this position include the following:
Conduct hydrologic, hydraulic analyses to solve complex water resources problems over a wide range of applications.
Develop numerical models for hydrologic, hydraulic, and reservoir operations studies.
Perform hydraulic design of culverts, pumps, open channels, and other hydraulic structures.
Coordinate and communicate with internal and external clients.
Prepare detailed technical reports and memoranda and present technical information to peers and clients.
Support proposal preparation and participate in business development efforts.
Experience Requirements
1 to 2 years of experience in Civil Engineering and Water Resources related fields, or related education.
Education Requirements
BS in Civil Engineering (M.S. preferred).
Engineer in Training certificate and ability to become a Registered Professional Engineer in California.
Minimum Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and work as part of a team.
Experience with HEC models such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or HEC-ResSim. Knowledge of other models is a plus.
Knowledge of California water institutions and systems is desirable.
Familiarity with GIS and CAD applications is preferred.
Possession of valid driver’s license required.
