Summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a water resources engineer or hydrogeologist interested in developing innovative solutions to challenging water-related projects, and working with successful project teams. This opportunity will be based in California, specific office location is flexible. The selected candidate will have experience in the water resources and groundwater fields, exceptional communication skills, the ability to interact with clients and stakeholder groups, and experience managing projects and project teams.

Job description

Responsibilities:

Development of hydrogeologic conceptual models.
Development and calibration of regional hydrologic and groundwater models and application to water resources projects.
Development, calibration and application of groundwater quality models.
Interpreting model results to support policy and regulatory processes.
Performing data analysis, visualization, mapping and management with an emphasis on water resources data.
Performing groundwater management and planning, land use analysis, agricultural and urban water analysis.
Developing code to support and analyze modeling projects.

Qualifications:

The candidate must be a proactive communicator, both internally and externally, and work with both junior and senior project staff.
BS in Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science or a related field, MS/PhD preferred.
Strong theoretical background on numerical analysis, hydrogeology, groundwater flow, and water quality.
Proficiency with CA Department of Water Resources (DWR’s) Integrated Water Resources Model (IWFM) and/or U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS’s) MODFLOW modeling platforms.
Experience working on water resources, groundwater and/or closely related projects; specific experience with local, regional, and watershed scale modeling and planning projects is highly desirable.
Excellent organizational, writing, presentation and interpersonal skills.
