You have the chance to join the Water Treatment team as a Shift Operator operating the clean water treatment works at Little Eaton near Derby. Your role will be to produce up to 120 million litres of water drinking water a day for our customers in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, in the most cost efficient and safe manner.

You will participate in a dynamic and enthusiastic annualised hours shift team working a 24/7/365 shift rota. The rota gives great work/life balance, and you will be rewarded with ample rest days and an annualised shift allowance in addition to your base salary.

You will work alongside a dedicated maintenance team, process team and local management team using control platforms such as PRISM to operate the works. The role will include lone working, so you need to be self-motivated and confident to make decisions to maintain water quality compliance, with support from the out of hours stand-by. This role requires participation in a stand-by rota.

Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:

The general running of Little Eaton WTW including various outstations
Self-motivated and the ability to prioritise workload
Role has elements of lone working and team working so an adaptable proactive approach is vital
Ensure consistent use and application of standardised practices and procedures for the management of H&S risk and quality problems, with full adherence to and promotion of the Company principles
Optimising on site processes to benefit cost saving and quality
Chemical ordering and on-site testing
Proficient in the use local operating system including – Scada, Prism, SAP & Excel
Writing and following detailed systems of work
Methodical approach and the ability to problem solve site and process issues
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


To be a success in this role, having experience in working various shifts would be beneficial. We are also looking for excellent organisation skills and efficiency, someone capable of completing a number of tasks at once whilst working well under pressure. Having the capability to analyse information to spot potential problems will be beneficial. Experience of water treatment and process is advantageous. A full UK driving licence is required for the role.
